Belle Gibson & Social Media:: Miranda Vlogs

I get a lot of questions about my stance on the whole Belle Gibson saga, so I thought I’d have a chat with you about it and my thoughts on the wellness industry in social media (mainly Instagram). I’d love to hear what you think about what I’ve said in the comments below

  1. I couldn’t agree more with your position Miranda! I also followed Belle and downloaded her wellness app and was so sadly disappointed by the lies that she used to gain her following. I wish she would apologise too, instead of creating excuses and justifications that are hard for us to swallow! In saying that, I’m not going to waste my time and energy being angry with her. I read a saying recently that said something along the lines of “Holding onto anger is like holding onto a burning stone that you want to throw at the person you’re angry with. However, the stone is only burning YOUR hand.” There’s nothing that I can do to change the situation, apart from taking a reality check to remember that the people behind famous wellness empires (and famous people in general) are just people. Thanks for sharing this video, it’s definitely helped me to get my mind around the whole thing! Also, it’s brought into perspective the value of the genuine people I do know and follow xx

  2. My first reaction was born out of compassion. To make those choices there would be an obvious imbalance in mental health. And as always the natural consequences are more than enough for her choices. Love, light and compassion without judgement. x
